Hi, I’m Kathy. Dogs have been a huge part of my life for many years, and my approach to training has always been based on understanding why dogs behave the way they do, not simply correcting the behaviour we see.

I am a Certified Dog Trainer and completed the Academy for Dog Trainers through the San Francisco SPCA, under the direction of respected trainer and author Jean Donaldson. I also completed The Dog Trainers Course for Narcotic Detection through Randy Hare at Alpha K9 Training Center in Mississippi.

I spent 15 years working with shelter dogs in Virginia, gaining extensive hands-on experience with temperament testing, behaviour assessment, socialization, play groups, and dogs with a wide range of behavioural challenges.

My training is based on the principles of operant and classical conditioning, with an emphasis on positive reinforcement. My goal is to help create dogs that are well-mannered, confident, and able to live happily within their families.
